Happy Mother's Day weekend. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. It was gorgeous here and the sunny warmer weather brought us all outside for the weekend. I got a few things finished in the yard, and was able to finish some painting as well. It was warm enough on Saturday that my kids brought out the sprinkler. It was a blast watching them play and it brought back memories of last summer, and how much they have both grown since then.
I managed to get the last details of my desk finished today, and finally got some time to snap some pictures of it.
Do you remember the before?
This sad little desk was free on craigslist. You cant beat free furniture, so I was excited to get this piece.
After a good coat of primer, I applied two coats of Rustoleum white, semi-gloss.
Then it was ready for the Mod Podge.
Do you love this paper as much as I do? I love the pink, it just called my name when I was searching the craft store.
You can read about the Mod Podge process here.
After the drawers were done with the Mod Podge I reattached the original hardware to them. I used the same hardware on the side drawers, only I painted them first. For the top drawer I bought new knobs, and look how cute they are! I debated getting matching ones for the side drawers but at $5.99 a piece, I decided to hold off.
Here it is now, sitting in my dining room still.
Look closely at all the handles on the drawers. Notice anything? The bottom drawer lost part of the handle! I could just scream when I realized this! It is fine for now, but I will probably be back at the hardware store again this week getting a new piece.
So there ya have it, another finished project! Another free piece of furniture turned into something amazing.
Have a fabulous week friends!

The pretty drawer fronts just make the desk! I would love to do something like that for my little girl!
