Productivity, finally!
Well kinda...
I got this thing finished and hung, but I still have to spruce it up a bit.
I started with a 1x10 and trimmed it to the desired length.
I added the top piece, a 1 x 4 with a slight overhang on each side for the crown.
The crown was a MAJOR pain in the BUTT! I couldnt have done it without this old guy, below.
Thanks Dad. :-)
Putty.. Paint.. Hooks
Finished!
What do you think? Should I putty that knot in the wood?
This will be so much more functional in the entryway than what we had before.
Sharing this over here.

I like the knot, nice work on making the 'find the coat, hat, bag' hanger.

SOOO CUTE! I have one that I bought a long time ago. I've always thought I could use a couple more. I should just make one, huh?! I think the knot is fun. I don't know if you like distressing your wood, but, it would be so pretty if you distressed the shelf so the knot can really stand out. Either way it's one HOT shelf:) AWESOME job.

I like the knot. I'd leave it as is! Hope your weekend is going well.

Great project. I love hooks for hanging coats! They are so much quicker and easier than hangers. I would fill the knot for a nice clean look.
Great job! Everyone needs something like this in their entry!
